Marta Mate el Holgazán

Medium-bodied wine with an attractive, bright cherry red color. The nose is intensely aromatic with red fruits, citrus, mineral notes, and licorice. Medium-bodied on the palate with gentle tannins. Long, sweet, and persistent on the palate, with a finish that stands out for its freshness thanks to its natural acidity. El Holgazán, naturalness with minimal intervention and maximum purity.

In the "El Holgazán" estate in Tubilla del Lago, the northernmost area of ??the Ribera del Duero region, a cluster of vines sprouts at an altitude of 920 m, with unique characteristics. The soils are sandy clayey with limestone rocks on the surface. The plain is a low-lying area with rock flakes that colonize the vine roots. The vineyard boasts a privileged location overlooking the Gromejón River and is influenced by the microclimatic influence of the Cervera mountain range. Vines were planted between 1992 and 1996.

Wine production

Manual harvesting in boxes. Environmentally friendly production throughout every phase of the process, from organic and sustainable viticulture from the source to the final production phase in the winery. This wine is low in sulfites.

Maturation

Aged for 7 months in 300-liter French oak barrels and 6 months in concrete tanks. Bottled without cold stabilization. Production: 25,500 bottles.
