Petit Pittacum

Petit is a wine that is easy to associate with a wide range of foods and dishes. Succulent traditional legume stews, poultry and its rice dishes, cephalopods such as octopus, oily fish, cured meats, sautéed or stewed mushrooms, omelettes, and fish pies.

The wine is made from small plots of old, century-old Mencía vineyards, spread over the foothills of the mountainous belt that makes up the Bierzo wine region. Fresher clay soils cultivated on steep slopes facing east and north are the source of Petit Pittacum. These are the places that accurately reflect the purest Atlantic style of the Region.

Wine production

The grapes arrive at the winery in small boxes with a capacity of 12 kg. Bunch by bunch they are selected on the sorting table. After the harvest, after destemming and without crushing, they are taken to the tanks where they ferment for 15 days at 25 degrees. During this time they are lightly shaken and pumped over with the idea of ??making a selective extraction and preserving all the fruit.
