Terras Gauda
The spring of 2018 was rainy with low minimum temperatures that persisted throughout the first third of summer. In August, the air temperature rose significantly, which was reflected in two hot waves at the beginning of the month, in the middle of the month the temperature rose to its 20-year high. These conditions had a strong effect on the dehydration of the vines in the most heavily affected areas, as a result of which the final harvest volume thinned.
Thanks to the sunny and dry September, we graded the harvest so that it took longer than usual, so we allowed all varieties of vines to ripen and we obtained long, well-balanced and complex wines.
The result of the combination of varieties is significant. This wine is very complex, with a clear aroma of citrus, mandarin and orange peels, a pair of peaches with anise spice colored with an earthy tone, flowering jasmine and hay leaf.
It has a surprisingly strong structure and character, filling the floor with fresh and velvety feelings. At the same time, it is fresh, pleasant and, thanks to its great acids, very lively, they give us a pleasant, intense and very long finish. Aromas on the palate and taste sensations complete the good ripening conditions for the 2018 season.
This wine offers us seemingly conflicting characteristics: it is a complex wine that is easy to drink.
We do not consider decantation necessary for this wine. Storage / storage potential: this wine should be served to young people. We do not recommend letting it rest.
70% Albarino, 25% Caino and 5% Loureiro. Albarino brings its fruity aromas and fullness to the palate into the mix. Loureiro brings a well-intense floral aroma and Caíno and adds aromas of tropical fruits, balsamic and - most importantly - great structure, character and uniqueness.

The Albarino varieties come from land at lower altitudes, in other words from moist soil, which means earlier harvests and more concentrated and fuller wines with a lower acid content. The Albarino variety is harvested first, between September 17 and 28, and the last time the Caíno vine is harvested, from September 28 to October 4, it is the latest variety. Loureiro grapes come from the highest altitude, from the least moist and colder vineyards, where the fruits ripen more slowly and thus Loureiro acquires tremors of intense aroma and softness on the palate. The harvest takes place on 26-27. September.Wine production
After pre-fermentation, cold maceration of variable length according to the variety, alcoholic fermentation was performed using our own yeast from our own vineyards. After the necessary rest, we stabilized and bottled the wine.Color
